The M86 Capsule Lamp is a lamp most commonly found in low voltage cupboard and kitchen fittings, sometimes found in children's lighting. The type is determined by the distance between the two pins at the base of the lamp (G4 is 4mm and GY6.35 is 6.35mm, the 240 volt capsule lamp would be a G9). Its colour temperature 2700 Kelvin is a measurement on the colour spectrum. At sunrise or sunset the sun gives off a red warm glow, this is a lower colour temperature or lower value Kelvin (2700 Kelvin or below is Warm White). At noon the sun gives off a brighter whiter light which is typically daylight, it has a higher colour temperature or higher value Kelvin (5000 Kelvin or above is Daylight). At home a warmer light is desired to provide a comforting, cosy environment; visually daylight is a much whiter brighter light, used to work in the kitchen or the office. Primarily the whiter light is better for a working environment.
